Description: Various copyright related issues often come up during conducting a research, writing a dissertation/thesis, submitting paper to a journal or preparing the content for a class. While abiding by copyright law is essential, there are certain exemptions based on the Fair Use doctrine. This session will discuss the copyright and other related issues such as “fair use”, “authors’ right”. It will also highlight  how to ascertain if an use can be protected under "Fair Use" doctrine and how to create a documentation/checklist in support of a copyright related decision by a user.
