OverDrive increases access to UCR's leisure reading collection
March 26, 2021

Overdrive is an e-book platform that offers UCR Library patrons access to popular titles – the sort of books you might find in your local public library.

Our growing collection from Overdrive includes leisure reading, children’s books, and science fiction and fantasy titles.

We are especially excited to offer many of these e-books as part of the Edwin H. and Wendy L. Allen Endowed Leisure Reading Collection. The Leisure Reading Collection is located to the left of the Rivera Library entrance, and was until recently an entirely print collection. This meant that with the closure of the libraries due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our students, faculty, and staff were not able to check out books for leisure reading. Now, many of our most popular leisure reading titles have been purchased as an e-book from Overdrive, so you can now access them from the comfort of your own home.

Overdrive Books can be read on Kindle, in EPUB format, in your internet browser, or via the Libby app.

For more information on accessing Overdrive ebooks, please review this guide, or, check out all our offerings at ucr.overdrive.com.

We are currently adding to the collection, so check back frequently to find more content. If you have any purchase suggestions for the leisure reading collection, please email Carla Arbagey.
