Use Materials in the Reading Room

Our materials are shelved in closed stacks and do not circulate outside the Special Collections Reading Room on the 4th floor of the Tomás Rivera Library.

All researchers need to register in the Special Collections Request System. While walk-ins are welcome, researchers are advised to request materials ahead of time to avoid delays.

During the academic year, we are open to the public Monday – Friday, 10:00 – 5:00. In the summer, we close at 4:00 and we are not open during school vacations. When planning a visit, please check our upcoming hours for additional closures or schedule changes.

Out-of-hours appointments can be arranged, pending staff and space availability. To request an appointment, please email us at least two weeks ahead of time.

Request Digital Copies of Materials

Submit requests for scans as “Reproduction Orders” in the Special Collections Request System. Scans will be delivered electronically to your account. For more information, including fees, please see the  Special Collections & University Archives Reproductions Policy.
