Forgotten Rivers of Southern California: Making the Los Angeles River Visible – Implications for the Santa Ana River

UCR Friends of the Santa Ana River is pleased to announce that Shelly Becklar from Friends of the Los Angeles River (FOLAR) will be presenting on the Los Angeles River and efforts to restore it and educate the Greater Los Angeles Community as to its aesthetic, biological, community and recreational values. Becklar will discuss the many successes of her organization in beginning to increase awareness and bring the river back and how similar efforts might be applied to the Santa Ana River in the Inland Empire. Discussion will follow.

She will be presenting on Thursday, 2/7/13, 4pm, in Orbach Science Library, Room 240. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
