    U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Traveler Information
    The U.S. Customs Service presents information on customs rules, procedures, and regulations useful to those traveling to the United States and to those returning to the United States from travel abroad. Included are:
    ---Know Before You Go, with rules for bringing items back from a trip abroad
    ---general information on duties and duty exemptions
    ---information on restricted and prohibited merchandise
    ---information on bringing medications and drugs into the United States
    ---ID and entry requirements for foreign nationals
    ---list of average wait times at customs for major U.S. airports
    ---current wait times for passsenger vehicles and commercial vehicles at northern and southern ports of entry

    Each country description includes entry and exit requirements (passports, visas, vaccinations, currency, etc.) for U.S. citizens.

    Travel Advisories and Country Information

    Country Specific Information, Travel Warnings and Travel Alerts : U.S. Department of State
    From the U.S. State Department:
    (1) Country Specific Information sheetsgive a very brief description of the country; describe entry requirements to the country; tell about medical facilities, crime in the country, drug penalties; list U.S. embassies and consulates in the country; and, give other useful information to travelers.
    (2) Travel Warnings -- issued when the State Department recommends that U.S. citizens avoid travel to a certain country.
    (3) Travel Alerts -- issued for short-term events that may affect travel to a country or region

    Travel Advice, Great Britain Foreign and Commonwealth Office
    The Foreign and Commonwealth Office issues country-specific travel advice "to ensure that British travellers are well prepared before their departure." Brief information is given on safety and crime, entry requirements to the country, medical services, currency, etc. The Office issues warnings advising against travel to specific countries and to specific areas within countries.

    The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade issues country-specific travel advice for Australians traveling abroad. Brief information is given on safety and security, health issues, and entry requirements to the country. The Department may advise against travel to specific countries or to specific areas within countries.

    Travel Reports, Canada Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade
    The Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade issues country-specific travel advice for Canadians traveling abroad. Brief information is given on general conditions, safety and security, health issues, and entry requirements to the country. The Department may advise against travel to specific countries or to specific areas within countries.

    Health Information for Travelers

    CDC Travelers' Health
    The U.S. Centers for Disease Control offer health recommendations for international travelers, immunization requirements, disease alerts and other information for travelers. Includes:
    ---Health information for travelers by area of the world and country
    ---Yellow book, CDC Health Information for International Travel with information about vaccination requirements and recommendations, health hazards by area of the world, and disease prevention practices for travelers. The Yellow Book is "a reference for those who advise international travelers of health risks. ... It is written primarily for health care providers, although others might find it useful."
    ---Information on specific diseases (cholera, yellow fever, dengue fever, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, encephalitis, malaria, rabies, typhoid fever, etc.) and traveler's health issues (spraying for insects on aircraft)
    ---Brief information about significant outbreaks of diseases such as dipththeria and polio throughout the world
    ---Most recent scores of sanitation inspections of cruise ships with stops at U.S. ports
    ---Information for specific travel populations (children, disabled, pregnant, etc.)

    Business Travel Etiquette

    Country Commercial Guides
    "Country Commercial Guides (CCG) are prepared by US Embassy Staff once a year and contain information on the business and economic situation of foreign countries and the political climate as it affects U.S. business. Each CCG contains the same chapters, and an appendix, which include topics such as marketing, trade regulations, investment climate, and business travel."
