Student Led Courses in the UC

What would you teach if you had the choice?

 UC Berkeley's Pathbreaking

 Democratic Education at CAL Program

 and

 UC Riverside's new R'Courses

 Date/Time/Place:

Tuesday, February 25, 12-1, Orbach Science Library, Room 240

DeCal (Democratic Education at CAL) courses offer students the opportunity to teach a topic which they have been trained in and feel passionate about. In operation since the 1960s, DeCal supports several hundred student initiated and conducted courses with several thousand participants during an average semester. Liz Keithley of DeCal will discuss the program.

R’Courses, a new UCR student-led course program, encourages and supports student initiated, designed and peer taught courses. Veronique Rorive, Director of Educational Initiatives, Undergraduate Education, UCR, will talk about the R’Course program.

Interested students, faculty and administrators are invited to bring their lunch learn about R’Courses and DeCal.  Light refreshments will be served.
