The X-Files have come to UCR. Come see the collection of Mari Ruíz-Torres, recently donated to the Eaton Collection of Science Fiction and Fantasy. On display are shooting scripts, VHS tapes, books about the series, films, and cast members, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. "The Truth is Out There."

This current exhibition features leaves from printed Bibles, dating from the 1540s Gutenbreg Bible to the 1611 King James version.

California Celebrates A Century of Equal Suffrage

A century ago women gained the vote in California. It had been a long struggle for women as the exhibit on womens’ suffrage, which Special Collections & Archives installed in conjunction with Archives Month, illustrates using material from the pamphlet collection.

Rivera Library: We Are Highlanders

This exhibition featured photographs and artifacts from the University Archives, focusing on the UCR Pipe Band. Materials included Pipe Band Kilt, Bag Pipes, and a UCR Pipe Band trophy. This exhibition was installed for the 2010 UCR Homecoming.

The Time Machine

This exhibition featured the first editions of the British and American printing of H.G. Wells' Novel The Time Machine. The First American Edition was received through a grant from the Breslauer Foundation.

Clandestine Publications in Poland, 1970s and 1980s

This exhibition was part of the "Librarians as Collectors" Series. Featured were books, journals, and papers that had been published underground in Poland during the 1970s and the 1980s. These materials were from the personal collection of Gwido Zlatkes.

The Three Guinea Archive

This exhibition featured correspondences, documents and prints found in UC Riverside's copy of The History of the Ancient Palace and Late Houses of Parliament at Westminster : Embracing Accounts and Illustrations of St. Stephens Chapel, and its Cloisters, - Westminster Hall, - The Court of Requests, - The Painted Chamber, 1836 by John Britton and E. W. Brayley. The volume came to UCR as part of a purchase from the collection of Henry Snyder in the late 1980s. Mr. Snyder bought the volume in the 1960s in a used book store in London for 3 guineas. In 2010 the items were removed from the volume and made into an archive.

Orbach Science Library: James Wallace Exhibition

This exhibition featured materials from the James M. Wallace papers, a faculty member in the Plant Pathology. Professor Wallace came to the University of California Citrus Experiment Station at Riverside in 1942 after spending over a decade at the US Department of Agriculture.

Fred Patten: Author, Fan, Collector

Fred Patten

September 2008 to June 2011
This exhibition featured materials from the Fred Patten Collection on Science Fiction and Animation. Fred Patten worked in the fields of Science Fiction, anime, manga, and Furry Fandom, earning distinction for his scholarship on the history of animation.
