Selection Criteria
Each application packet will be reviewed by the Inland Empire LEADS Project Advisory Committee, a 13-member group with representatives from each of the partner institutions. The review process will rank applicants on the following criteria:
- Current and or past experience in providing services to culturally and socioeconomically diverse patrons
- Work experience
- Recommendations and Endorsement
- Writing skills
- Future goals as a professionally trained librarian, and how these parallel the goals of Inland Empire LEADS
- Language competencies, including English
- Self-identification with an ethnic group which is underrepresented among professional librarians in the Inland Empire
- A personal statement that demonstrates a commitment to serving diverse communities
Self-identification with an ethnic group is NOT a requirement, but candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
