Graduate Student Locker Policies

Currently enrolled UCR graduate students may reserve use of a locker located in the Tomás Rivera Library 2nd Floor Graduate Study Space, as available. Locker reservations are free of charge and assigned on a first come, first served basis for up to three consecutive quarters.

Security:

  • Lockers are assigned a randomized PIN for individual use only. After entering your PIN, the locker will unlatch, and you will have a limited time to open the door before the latch resets. Push the door to re-lock.

  •  Do not share your PIN or allow unauthorized persons to access your locker.

  • Make sure the locker is secure when you leave it, even for brief periods of time.

  • Do not store valuable items in the locker.

  • Report all issues to the Rivera Library Circulation Desk (951-827-3220).

Locker Use:

  • Storage of library, personal, study, and research materials and supplies are allowed in the locker.

  • Library-owned items must be checked out to you before placing them in the locker; materials not checked out and found during routine inspections will be returned to the library’s collection.

  • Storage of food, drink, items that can spoil, weapons, flammable, or toxic materials and all other items that violate the UCR Standards of Conduct is strictly prohibited.

  • Library staff check lockers on a routine basis; non-use may result in re-assignment of the locker.

Assignment Procedures:

  • Assignments are granted for up to three consecutive academic quarters (Summer included). Email messages will be sent to the address on file within two weeks of the expiration date with instructions for vacating the locker or requesting an extension. Extensions must be requested before the current reservation expires and are not guaranteed. An extension will not be granted if there is a waitlist; you may join the waitlist after your current reservation ends.

  • If an extension is not requested or granted, remove all belongings from your locker by the expiration date. Personal belongings left in the locker after the expiration date will be forwarded to the Library Lost & Found.

  • Fines will be assessed for locker damage or lock replacement.

Any violation of these policies will result in revocation of locker privileges. The library is not responsible for damaged or lost material, equipment, or personal belongings stored in the lockers.
