Medical Education and Clinical Outreach

Overview

Medical Library Programs, integrated within the Research Services Department, provides specialized research assistance and instructional support for the UCR School of Medicine, which includes the Doctor of Medicine (MD), Graduate Medical Education (Residency, Fellowships), MS/PhD in Biomedical Sciences, and Master of Public Health (MPH). Offering expert guidance in navigating the complex landscape of biomedical literature and evidence-based resources, we support students, faculty, staff, and clinicians at the School of Medicine.

  • Literature searches on health-related topics and search consultations
  • Specialized biomedical databases including PubMed/MEDLINE, OVID

  • Clinical decision tools and resources
Instructional Support
  • Course-integrated instruction, working with faculty to enhance critical thinking and research skills by providing additional support around Evidence-based medicine in the medical education curriculum (UME/GME)
  • Information literacy training for biomedical research
  • Workshop series on research methodology and database searching
  • One-on-one consultations for faculty, students, residents and fellows
  • Customized training for research teams and departments

  • Literature searches on health-related topics to support research projects and publications, consultation, and planning
