Library Collections Updates

As part of the University of California's ongoing assessment of library resources across the UC system, cancellations are being made to some resource subscriptions based on usage data, cost analysis, and systemwide priorities.

The decision to cancel or change resources involves careful consideration of usage patterns and alternative access options.

We regularly review collections to ensure we are providing the most valuable resources to support teaching, learning, and research while addressing budget constraints.

Alternative Access to Resources

Even when specific subscriptions change, you still have multiple pathways to access the materials you need for your research and coursework.

For alternative access, sign in to UC Library Search to ensure you are searching all of the library’s licensed resources. When we do not have an article through an existing subscription, the following options are available:

Interlibrary Loan (ILL): For all UCR-affiliated users. Our ILL service ensures you can access books, articles, and other materials from other UC libraries and beyond. Requests for articles are typically filled within 1-3 business days.

Article Galaxy: For faculty, staff, and graduate students only. Individual articles from selected journals may be routed through Article Galaxy for faster access, usually within 30 minutes of your request.
