Scholarly Communication Services support researchers and scholars across all disciplines and career stages at UCR in navigating the publishing landscape, managing scholarly identities, evaluating and increasing research impact, and advocating for open access publishing.

The services the UCR Library provides below are designed to empower researchers through expert guidance, resources sharing, and one-on-one support—not legal counsel.

Publishing

Support scholars at all career stages—from undergraduate researchers to faculty and staff—in navigating publishing opportunities throughout the research lifecycle.

Open Access

Increase the visibility and accessibility of your research through open access. Learn about open access models, funder mandates, article processing charges (APCs), and how to deposit your work in UC's institutional repository, eScholarship and through UC’s Publication Management System

Scholarly Identity and Impact

Strengthen your scholarly presence online. We provide support for creating and managing your scholarly identity, evaluating and increasing scholarly impact metrics.

Author Rights

Understand and protect your rights as an author. We help you understand and apply Creative Commons Licenses, Copyright, and Fair Use laws.

Consultations

We offer one-on-one or group consultations for individuals, research teams, and departments. Whether you have questions about publishing, open access, scholarly identity, or research impact, we’re here to help!
