California K-8 Math and Language Development Materials Now Available for Review at UC Riverside Library

Comments on revisions for proposed curriculum due by Aug. 27 to Sacramento.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Instructional materials being considered for revised curriculum for mathematics and English language development for kindergarten through eighth grade students in California are available for review at the University of California, Riverside.

The materials are available to view from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Learning Resources Display Center at Rivera Library at UC Riverside. For appointments outside of these hours or additional assistance, call 951-827-5138.

The reviews are being coordinated by The California State Board of Education and California Department of Education.

Thirty-five mathematics programs submitted by 17 publishers are being reviewed.  The list of material under review is available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ma/im/mathsubmissions.asp.

For the supplemental instructional materials review for English language development, 12 programs submitted by 11 publishers are being reviewed. The list of material under review is available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/cr/cf/eldsimrsubprograms.asp.

Educators, parents, and all interested parties are encouraged to participate in the review processes. Public comments regarding the mathematics materials under consideration are due by Aug. 27, 2013.
