Tuskegee Exhibit Featured at AAAM Annual Conference

The UCR Library was one of the sponsors at the Association of African American Museums 2016 Annual Conference.

In addition, the Library also hosted an exhibit, titled “Tuskegee Airmen and the Great Western Migration, 1940-1970,” curated by Bergis Jules, University and Political Papers Archivist.

Ann Marshall and Shar Huston of Annex Design Services created the concept for the exhibition materials.

According to Jules, the exhibit garnered positive attention from conference attendees as well as potential interest from several museums who might like to display the exhibit at their own facilities.

The Association of African American Museums (AAAM) is a non-profit member organization that supports African American focus museums, as well as the professionals who protect, preserve and interpret African American art, history and culture. The AAAM Conference ran from August 3-6, 2016, at the Riverside Convention Center.
