Creat'R Lab launch event

The entrepreneurial spirit has a new home at UC Riverside: UCR Library will launch the Creat'R Lab on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

A launch event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Doors open at 4:30 PM. Program begins at 5:15 PM. Those interested in attending can RSVP here.

Creat'R Lab will be housed in the Orbach Science Library, rooms 140, 144, and 145, and will be an innovation space where UCR students can learn, experiment, design and create. This is where new technologies, scientific curiosity, and entrepreneurship come together to change the world.

Equipment will include 3D printers, 3D scanners and associated software, basic hand tools, electronics for prototyping, tools for working with textiles, and more. Experts (students, faculty, etc.) will provide individual consultations as well as workshops on tools, conceptual skills and entrepreneurship. There is a particular emphasis on students, who will be able to use this space both in conjunction with classroom projects and outside the classroom context.

University Librarian Steven Mandeville-Gamble and Vice Chancellor Michael Pazzani invite all UCR students, faculty, and staff to come explore, invent, and innovate in the Creat'R Lab.
