The UCR Library is delighted to welcome Alvaro Alvarez as the Innovative Media Librarian, effective Feb. 24.

Alvaro brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a technologist and maker, with in-depth knowledge of augmented and virtual reality technologies, digital fabrication, and robotics.

Alvaro will be located in the Research Services Department on the first floor of the Orbach Science Library, reporting to Brianna Marshall, Director of Research Services.

Alvaro earned his BS in Computer Science and Engineering, and his MBA in Organizational Leadership and Information Technology, both from the University of La Verne. Most recently, Alvaro served as the Technology Support and Application Specialist and Makerspace Manager for the University of La Verne Wilson Library. Previously, he worked as an Electronic Services Technician / Blackboard Support Supervisor.
