The UCR Library collects resources in dance studies and related disciplines both courses and research conducted by our students and faculty.  We offer subject-specific and general research educational services at the library and provide access to information from the UC Libraries System and beyond.

Conducting Research

Books & Articles

Books are useful for getting a broad introduction or background information for topics in dance studies and related fields. Search by topic keywords in the UCR catalog or the Melvyl (UC) catalog

Scholarly articles are carefully evaluated (peer-reviewed) by subject experts to provide reliable and credible information. Locate relevant articles by searching databases listed in the dance, art, music, and theatre databases.  The most popular databases are listed on this page.

Most journals relevant to dance and performance studies are purchased for the entire UC Library system and can be browsed in the UC Journal Finder.  Use the UCR catalog to find journals on campus.

Specialized Resources

The Music Library holds recordings on CDs, cassettes, and vinyl records as well as equipment to listen to them on site.

Video & Film
Rivera Library and the Music Library hold videos, DVDs, and CDs, searchable through the UCR catalog by limiting material type in advanced search.
