The UCR Library collects resources in materials science and engineering supporting both coursework and research conducted by our students and faculty. We offer subject-specific and general research educational services at the library and provide access to information from the UC Libraries System and beyond.
Conducting Research
Books & Articles
Books are useful for getting a broad introduction or background information for topics in chemical engineering. Search by topic keywords in the UCR catalog or the Melvyl (UC) catalog.
Scholarly articles are carefully evaluated (peer-reviewed) by subject experts to provide reliable and credible information. Locate articles by searching in the materials science and engineering databases. The most popular databases are listed on this page.
Journals
Most materials science journals are purchased for the entire UC Libraries system and can be browsed in in the UC Journal Finder. Use the UCR catalog, selecting material type "periodicals", to find journals on campus.
Specialized Resources
Properties Data (Chemical and Materials)
Chemical and materials properties are important information in Materials Science.
Standards
Materials and materials testing standards from organizations such as ASTM can be useful for study and research in Materials Science and Engineering.
