The UCR Library collects resources in mechanical engineering supporting both coursework and research conducted by our students and faculty. We offer subject-specific and general research educational services at the library and provide access to information from the UC Libraries System and beyond.
Books & Articles
Scholarly articles are carefully evaluated (peer-reviewed) by subject experts to provide reliable and credible information. Locate research articles by searching in the mechanical engineering discipline databases. The most popular databases are listed on this page.
Most mechanical engineering journals are purchased for the entire UC Libraries system and can be browsed in in the UC Journal Finder. Use the Scotty (UCR) catalog, searching with material type set to "periodicals", to find journals on campus.
Patent literature is important to research many topics in mechanical engineering. Patent searching is available through SciFinder Scholar, Google Patents, the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and international patent offices.
UCR Library collects a limited set of standards, such as the ASTM Standards, but we are here to assist in getting information as needed. Use interlibrary loan or send the subject specialist an email to access standards.
Materials reference data sources can be used to identify the optimal materials for a project.
