Agriculture and horticultural sciences are at the foundation of the UCR campus. Ongoing, long-term strengths of the Library’s collections include horticulture/agronomy/production of citrus, dates, avocados, and other subtropical fruits.

Major emphases of the collection are in crop genetics/breeding; pest management/control; plant pathology and disease control; and nematology and nematode control.

Many of our resources, especially those concerning citriculture, sub-tropical fruits, date culture, integrated pest management and biological control, are unique to the University of California and the United States.
