We want to extend a huge thank you to the hundreds of students who participated in our Add It | Fix It | Love It campaign this March.
With 449 total responses collected across Rivera and Orbach, your feedback has provided us with a clear roadmap for how we can better serve you.
We appreciate the time you took to share what you love, like our dedicated staff and the newly renovated Orbach 3rd floor, as well as the areas where we can improve. We are currently reviewing all of your suggestions regarding technology, noise levels, library resources, and more to ensure we are creating the best possible environment for your academic success.
We're already getting to work. Below are a handful of the first actions we're taking, some already in motion before the campaign, with more to come:
- Increasing Patrols of Quiet Floors: To help address noise concerns, we are increasing Library Safety Monitor patrols of the quiet floors.
- Upgraded Technology: By the end of June, we plan to replace desktop computers on the first floors with new ones, which will include brand-new keyboards.
- New Charging Solutions: We are currently evaluating a new service that would allow students to check out high-capacity battery packs from the circulation desks to charge laptops and phones at any seat.
- Verified Power Access: We have personally checked the outlets that were reported as broken; our team confirmed they are currently functional. We will continue to monitor these to ensure you have the power you need.
- WiFi & Equipment Support: We have flagged reports of uncharged laptops in kiosks to ITS. Additionally, ITS Network Operations is currently performing a campus-wide study of WiFi performance to address areas where improvement is needed.
As we continue to work on more of your suggestions, we will keep you updated on our progress.
