Three New Ways to Explore 'Life in America'

Newly licensed NewsBank collections give UCR researchers access to media coverage on LGBTQ+, immigrant, and Indigenous communities.

The UCR Library has licensed access to three new collections from NewsBank's Life in America series:

Each collection draws on media coverage from outlets across the country, capturing how these communities have been represented in the press in recent years. Topics span activism, arts and entertainment, court decisions, education, science and technology, healthcare, sports and leisure, and more, making these collections useful well beyond a single discipline. A student researching current civil rights litigation, a researcher following recent shifts in media coverage, or a faculty member building a course around contemporary community issues can all find relevant source material here.

These new collections join our existing NewsBank subscriptions, and all of them are cross-searchable from the NewsBank homepage, so researchers can search across collections at once rather than jumping between separate databases.
