We are reflooring the first floor of Orbach Library. To keep as much of the building as functional as possible, flooring and carpeting replacement will happen in phases over the rest of summer.
The first floor will remain open throughout the project, along with all upper floors. However, because work is being done in phases, specific first-floor areas, services, computing stations, and specialized labs will close or be disrupted as work moves through each area of the first floor. Pease note, construction crews will be working during morning and afternoon hours, Monday through Friday.

Building Access & Safety Reminders
- Restricted areas: Active work zones on the first floor will be closed off with barriers and mobile sign stands. For everyone's safety, students, faculty, and patrons must not enter any closed off areas.
- Service/freight elevator access: On some days, the service/freight elevator will not be accessible on the first floor. The main elevator and stairwell will remain open and accessible throughout the project.
- Noise: Expect periodic construction noise on the first floor and in nearby areas.
