The UC Libraries Arts & Humanities Open Access Fund has been expanded to cover open access publishing costs for all University of California authors publishing in eligible arts and humanities journals.
When the fund was first announced, it was limited to early career researchers. The fund was created to support author communities that are underserved by existing funding sources for open access publishing. Authors in the arts and humanities are often the least likely to secure this kind of support, whether due to a lack of grant funding opportunities or current gaps in UC's open access publisher agreements.
Under the expanded program, the fund covers the full open access publication fees for UC authors of any career status who are publishing arts and humanities articles that meet the eligibility requirements.
Publishing open access helps UCR scholars reach wider audiences and this expansion makes that option available to many more at UCR.
