Using Digital Tools for Research

The UCR Library offers support for a variety of digital research methods, and we are also available to help you use digital platforms for course projects, plan a digital project, and share your work online.

If you have specific digital scholarship questions, please schedule a consultation with the Digital Scholarship Librarian! We also offer workshops throughout the year and hold regular digital scholarship community meetings. Join our community at an upcoming event, and stay in touch by subscribing to our listserv.

Project Planning

We offer consultations and resources for planning, developing, and managing your digital projects. Please get in touch if you have an idea for a digital project or an ongoing project you would like to discuss!

Digital Publishing

If you need to explore new options for creating project websites, learn about academic web hosting resources, or find places to share your research online, feel free to request a consultation.

Digital Pedagogy

Through programs like Teaching with R’Stuff and in collaboration with our Teaching and Learning librarians, we are available to consult on the use of digital tools in course assignments and projects.

Statistical Analysis

Digital Mapping & GIS

We provide support for finding and using geospatial data, GIS, and online platforms for creating interactive digital maps, such as ESRI products (including ArcGIS StoryMaps), QGIS, or Leaflet.js. Read more about our support for geospatial data and digital mapping.

3D Modeling & AR/VR

The Creat’R Lab provides an innovation space and support for faculty and students working with 3D models or interested in exploring augmented and virtual reality software and equipment.

Data Visualization

Through workshops and consultations, we are able to provide support and instruction on using a variety of tools for visualizing different kinds of data.

Computational Text Analysis

Connect with us to learn more about tools and methods for processing textual data, performing text data mining, natural language processing, and other text analysis topics.

Network Analysis

We support network analysis research and network graph visualization with open tools like Gephi, Cytoscape, or R.
