Graduate Study Wing Now Open at Tomás Rivera Library

The UCR Library has opened a new Graduate Study Wing on the north end of the 2nd floor of the Tomás Rivera Library, providing graduate students with an updated, dedicated space for focused study and research.

This new wing is now the designated graduate-only study area, relocated from the former graduate student study carrel area. The Graduate Study Wing offers a more open and flexible environment, while still supporting the quiet, concentrated work that graduate students rely on.

The space includes:

  • More study spaces than the carrel area and a variety of seating styles, including height-adjustable desks and semi-enclosed study pods.
  • Lockers for temporary storage.
  • Updated flooring and furnishings to create a comfortable, modern study environment.
  • Carts will be added to the space to help grad students move their books and belongings within the building.

The former carrel area is now available as general study seating for all library users, expanding study options across the building.
