UCR ACADEMIC
Current UCR faculty and lecturers

Your UCR card is your library card. Privileges are automatically granted.

  • Unlimited number of books
  • 365-day loan - UCR material
  • 90-day loan - UC material
  • 30-day loan - ILL material
  • Renewals, requests, course reserves checkout permitted
  • Proxy borrower privileges permitted
  • Remote access to licensed material with active UCRNetID
UCR STAFF
Current academic staff, career staff, researchers, paid visiting scholars, paid post doctorates, and School of Medicine residents

Your UCR card is your library card. Privileges are automatically granted.

UCR EMERITI
Emeriti UCR faculty

You may use your Emeriti UCR card or obtain a UCR Library Card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your Emeriti UCR card or proof of membership via the UCR Emeriti and Retirees' Association Membership portal, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted biennially.

 
UCR STUDENTS
Current UCR undergraduate and graduate students

Your UCR card is your library card. Library privileges are based on enrollment status and are automatically updated each quarter. Graduate students on university-approved paid filing fee or absentia status retain full privileges.

  • 90-day loan - UC material
  • 30-day loan - ILL material
  • Renewals, requests, course reserves checkout permitted
  • Remote access to licensed material with active UCRNetID
CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT
Concurrent Enrollment students, Intensive English Program students (enrolled in UCR courses) and Kalea program student

You may use your UCR card, Extension ID card, or obtain a UCR Library Card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your enrollment card or receipt of fees paid and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted for the length of the course.

 
UCR RETIRED STAFF
Retired UCR staff

You may use your Retired Staff UCR card or obtain a UCR Library Card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your Retired Staff UCR card or proof of membership via the UCR Emeriti and Retirees' Association Membership portal, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted for length of annual membership or updated biennially for lifetime members.

UNPAID POSTDOC / UNPAID VISITING SCHOLAR
Current unpaid post doctorates and visiting scholars at UCR

You may use your UCR card or obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks with proof of address (i.e. driver's license). To establish library privileges, the Department Chair or Administrator must complete a privileges request form. Privileges are granted through length of appointment.

MENTOR PROGRAM STUDENTS
Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program (MSRIP), Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) students, Research in Science and Engineering (RISE) summer programs, Future Physician Leaders Program, GradEdge / JumpStart Program

To establish library privileges, you must obtain a UCR Card from the UCR Card Office and bring it with proof of address (i.e. driver's license) to the circulation desks. Program participation is verified through official list of names provided to the library. Privileges are granted through the end of the program.

USDA SALINITY LAB / FIRE LAB / USDI/GS / CARB
USDA Salinity Lab, Fire Lab, USDI/GS, and CARB research staff

You may use your UCR card or obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. Library privileges are established by an official list of names provided to the library or by proof of current employment, such as an official employment confirmation letter or ID, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted annually.

UC AFFILIATES
Current Cooperative Extension faculty and staff, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources Central Coast and South Region academics, and UC Path Employees

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring proof of employment such as a pay stub, ID card, or official employment confirmation letter from your department and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted annually or length of appointment.

VOLUNTEER CLINICAL FACULTY

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your UCR contract/appointment letter and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges granted through length of appointment.

 
UC ACADEMIC, STAFF & STUDENTS

Your home UC ID/Library card is your library card. Privileges are granted through enrollment at home campus.

  • Renewals & requests permitted
  • No remote access to material only licensed to UCR
 
UC ALUMNI
UCR and other UC alumni

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your UCR or UC Alumni Association membership card and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted for length of annual membership or updated biennially for lifetime members.

  • Number of books limited to 25
  • 28-day loan - UCR material
  • Renewals permitted
  • No requests or course reserve checkout permitted
  • No remote access to licensed material
SPOUSE, PARTNER, OR CHILD OF CURRENT UCR ACADEMIC OR STAFF

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. Library privileges are established by in-person academic or staff verification of relationship and are granted annually. Spouse, partner or child must be 18 years of age or older and must present proof of address (i.e. driver's license).

UCR EXTENSION STUDENTS
Current UCR Extension students

You may use your Extension ID or obtain a UCR Library Card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your enrollment card or receipt of fees paid and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted for the length of the course.

Intensive English Program students (enrolled in UCR Extension Center courses)

Your UCR Extension ID card is your library card. To establish library privileges, please bring your enrollment card or receipt of fees paid and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted quarterly.

UCR EXTENSION INSTRUCTORS
Current UCR Extension faculty

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring proof of employment such as a pay stub, ID card, or official employment confirmation letter from your department and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted for length of appointment.

NON-UC ACADEMICS
Current faculty from accredited non-UC California colleges and universities

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring proof of status from your campus directory or an official employment confirmation letter from your department, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted annually or for length of appointment.

LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY, STANFORD UNIVERSITY, AND UNIVERSITY OF REDLANDS
Current Loma Linda University students, Stanford University graduate students, faculty or staff, and University of Redlands Environmental Studies students

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish privileges, please bring an official authorization form from your university library or your UC/Stanford Cooperative Program card, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted through date on the authorization form or by semester for Stanford graduate students, faculty and staff.

OCLC FACULTY

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring your OCLC authorization card from your participating library, picture ID, and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted through the date on the authorization card.

COMMUNITY BORROWERS
California residents and Watkins Society members

Community members 18 and older may obtain a UCR library card at circulation desks with proof of address (i.e. driver's license). The fee is $65 for regular borrowers, $40 for senior borrowers (55 or older), and $35 for Watkins Society members. Privileges are granted annually. Fees support library collection development.

California State University/Community College students

Currently enrolled California public college students may obtain a UCR library card at circulation desks. The fee is $20 for six months of privileges. Fees support library collection development.

CERTIFICATED K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS
California public school teachers (including substitutes) and administrators

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. To establish library privileges, please bring proof of current employment such as a current pay stub or official employment confirmation letter and proof of address (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted through the fiscal year.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) STUDENTS
Canyon Springs High School, John W. North High School, and San Jacinto Valley Academy International Baccalaureate Students

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. Privileges are established by the UCR Library Use Agreement form provided by the IB coordinator. Please bring a form of identification and proof of address. Students under 18 must also bring a signed Parent Responsibility Form provided by the high school. Privileges are granted through the date indicated on the authorization form.

CAPSTONE PROGRAM STUDENTS
Riverside STEM Academy (RSA) Capstone Program Students

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. Privileges are established by the UCR Library Use Agreement form provided by the RSA Capstone Course Lead. Please bring a form of identification (i.e. school ID). Students under 18 must also bring a signed Parent Responsibility Form provided by the high school. Privileges are granted through the date indicated on the authorization form.

RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE (RCC) HONORS STUDENTS

You may obtain a UCR library card from circulation desks. Library privileges are established by presenting a signed authorization form provided by the RCC Honors Student Coordinator and an additional form of identification with address confirmation (i.e. driver's license). Privileges are granted through the date indicated on the authorization form.
