2nd Annual UCR Library Sticker Competition

For this year’s sticker competition, we ask that you imagine a new mascot for UCR—anything but a bear! 

Whether donkeys, quails, tangerines or something completely new, we want to see what you think would be an alternative mascot that both represents and uplifts our campus community alongside Scotty.

All qualifying entries will be voted on by employees of UCR Library. The winning design will be printed as a sticker in a limited run, to be released at the 2026 Inland Empire Archives Fair outside Rivera Library on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Although only the winning design will be produced as a sticker, all Scotty designs meeting our guidelines and requirements will be commemorated in a special edition zine published by UCR Special Collections and also released at the 2026 Archives Fair.

    • Submissions due: Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
    • Zine & sticker launch: Wednesday, October 21, 2026 (IE Archives Fair)
    • Entry is open to currently enrolled UCR undergraduate and graduate students.
    • All submissions must adhere to the UCR Principles of Community.
      • Submissions are prohibited from depicting acts of violence, nudity, offensive language or symbols.
    • The Library reserves the right to choose which submissions will be included in the final print zine. 
    • Only one submission will be accepted per person. If multiple submissions are made, only the first one received will be considered.
    • Submissions must be received by 11:59 pm on June 13, 2026.
    • All submissions must be original designs made without the aid or use of artificial intelligence.
    • Submissions must be uploaded as a .png or .jpeg file.
    • All submissions must be in a digital format; no physical submissions will be accepted.

  • Finalists whose submissions have been accepted for publication will receive a free print copy of the zine and of the winning sticker. These may be picked up at the Archives Fair on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

    If you cannot pick up at the fair, you may visit the UCR Special Collections & University Archives front desk during open hours from Thursday, October 22, 2026 through Wednesday, November 25, 2026. If not picked up by November 25, 2026, the print copy of the zine and sticker are forfeited.

2025 UCR Library Sticker Competition Winners

Check out the winning stickers from last year's competition! All qualifying 2025 entries are preserved in a special edition zine.
